Lauren Anne Asher grew up in Colorado, starting to ride when she was five years old. In the beginning, she dabbled in everything from Western riding to Hunter Jumping. At the age of eleven though, Lauren started to focus solely on Dressage, and the rest, as they say, is history.

Lauren competed in Colorado up to the FEI Juniors level, where she earned many regional and Rocky Mountain Dressage Society Championship titles. However, after graduating early from high school in the winter of 2014, Lauren and her two horses made the move to San Diego, California in order to be based closer to top trainers and a greater selection of competitions. In 2015, Lauren represented USDF Region 5 at the FEI North American Young Rider's Championships with Lysias. In late 2015, Lauren's family acquired her a new ride in the former breeding stallion De Noir. De Noir and Lauren soon became a parternship, competing and placing in many of the CDIs on the California circuit at Young Rider's level in the spring of 2016. Later that year, Lauren and De Noir were selected to compete in the American Young Rider European Tour, competing in the CDI-Y Compiègne and CDIO-Y Hagen, in the Young Rider's Nations Cup, allowing them to gain valuable insights and experience about competing in Europe and also riding for a team. Lauren and De Noir earned fourth place in the competitive Young Rider Kür in their European competition debut in Compiègne.

At the end of 2016, Lauren was based in the Netherlands full time with the exception of the winter season in Wellington, Florida, in order to be closer to greater training and competitions to further her dressage education.

In 2017, Lauren competed the mare Hønnerups Event at CDI Young Rider's level, earning many good placings in both Europe and North America. In Compiègne, they earned the second place in the Young Rider Kür with a 74.000%. In July in Saugerties, New York, Lauren and her mare earned the silver medal in the kür at the FEI North American Young Rider Championships. During the 2018 winter season in Wellington, Florida, Lauren and Event also had many successes in the CDI small tour division.

In 2019, Lauren and West Side logged many victories at international U25 Grand Prix level, culminating in a triple gold medal finish with the American team at the CDIO-U25 Nations Cup in Wellington in March.

Lauren spends her summers training in the Netherlands, and in winter enjoys staying in Wellington.
